Daily allowances during rehabilitation

Adults in receipt of IV/AI rehabilitation measures are generally entitled to a daily allowance from the IV/AI as well. In certain circumstances, their travel costs may also be reimbursed.

To be eligible for an IV/AI daily allowance, claimants must be at least 18 years old and were in gainful employment or in IV/AI-supported first-time vocational training prior to the onset of their incapacity to work.

Adults are entitled to a daily allowance if their participation in rehabilitation measures prevents them from attending work on at least three consecutive days.

Insured persons who are in receipt of an integration measure or are in IV/AI-supported first-time vocational training which is exclusively classroom-based are not entitled to an IV/AI daily allowance.

Claimants will continue to receive an IV/AI pension rather than a daily allowance for the duration of the reintegration measures under Art. 8a InvIA. In certain circumstances, the IV/AI may award a daily allowance.
