Loss of earnings compensation scheme - Overview

The loss of income compensation regulations was established to provide some compensation for loss of earnings to people who perform military, civilian or civil defence service. The scope of benefits has been extended in several steps: loss of income compensation now also includes maternity, paternity, adoption and care leave.

Earnings compensation in detail

The insurance of earnings compensation (EO) partially compensates for the loss of earnings arising from the performance of military service, civil protection or civilian service. The EO also partially compensates for the loss of earnings arising from maternity and paternity leave as well as for childcare leave for parents of seriously ill or injured children.
