Family allowances register
The family allowances register (RAFam) is the main information platform for family allowances paid in accordance with Swiss law for children residing in Switzerland or abroad.
Family allowances register
The RAFam system is designed to prevent duplicate payments of family allowances for the same child. It also reduces the administrative burden involved in determining whether a child allowance is already being paid for a child or not.
Only the implementing bodies have full access to the register. The public can consult the register online but their access is limited (InfoAFam). To find out whether an allowance is being paid for a child and by which service, you must enter the child's OASI number and date of birth in InfoAFam. The register will display only the most recent payment and the service which issued it.
Legal basis and guidelines
The legal basis for the family allowances register is set out in Articles 21a to 21ebis of the Family Allowances Act and Articles 18a to 18j of the Family Allowances Ordinance. Further information can be found in the RAFam system administration guide, the guidelines on the family allowances register and various fact sheets.
