Consumer prices fell by 0.2% in September
Neuchâtel, 02.10.2025 — The consumer price index (CPI) fell by 0.2% in September 2025 compared with the previous month, reaching a level of 107.5 points (December 2020 = 100). Inflation was +0.2% compared with the same month of the previous year. These are the results of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
The 0.2% decrease compared with the previous month is due to several factors including lower prices for supplementary accommodation and hotels, along with those for international package holidays and air transport. The hire of private means of transport also recorded a price decrease. In contrast, prices for knitwear for women and men increased, as did those for berries, living room and office furniture.
