Medical measures

The AI/IV covers medical measures necessary for the treatment of recognized congenital infirmities. These are awarded regardless of the recipient's future capacity to work. An ordinance sets out a complete list of congenital infirmities which entitle the insured to claim medical measures under the AI/IV.

The AI/IV also covers the costs of medical measures that directly support the integration of the recipient in compulsory education, first-time vocational training, the workforce and other areas of everyday life.

The AI/IV covers medical measures until the recipient's 20th birthday. If the recipient is taking part in occupational measures at the time of their 20th birthday, they are entitled to medical measures that directly support their occupational integration until they turn 25.

Further information is available in french, german and italian.
