Provision of assistive devices

The IV/AI provides the insured with assistive devices which they need to engage in gainful activity, keep their existing job, make it easier for them to perform their work, carry out everyday tasks (e.g. housework), attend school, pursue basic/continued training, and aid their functional habituation.

The IV/AI also provides assistive devices that help the insured become mobile, facilitate social interaction and increase their independence. These are awarded regardless of the person's employment status.

An ordinance sets out a complete list of assistive devices issued under the IV/AI.

Application for invalidity insurance (IV) financing for a new product as an assistive device

The market for assistive devices benefits in certain areas from technological progress. In order to make newly developed or further developed products available to IV-insured persons as quickly as possible, this form was introduced. It is aimed primarily at the manufacturers or importers of aids as defined in Article 21 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Federal Disability Insurance Act (IVG) and is used to check whether new or further developed products are in principle eligible for coverage by the disability insurance.
