The Federal Youth Session is organized and supported by young volunteers. Lead of project has the Swiss National Youth Council (SNYC).
The FISO / section Youth is the focal point for delegates to the conference of cantonal child and youth workers.
The FISO represents Swiss Youth Policy in international fora. The Council of Europe is an important forum for international cooperation on child and youth policy. Switzerland participates in a number of programmes.
Although Switzerland is not a member of the European Union (EU), it follows EU child and youth policy closely. Since 2011, thanks to a bilateral agreement between Switzerland and the European Union, Switzerland is now able to fully and directly participate in the education and youth programmes, such as Youth in action.
